Another brilliant term of learning here at Greenfield. Much of our learning this term has been outside of the classroom!
We’ve had two wonderful camps. Year two visited Barton Hall in Somerset for two fun filled days of den building, learning about nocturnal animals, outdoor swimming and sausages and chips!
Year visited Beam House for four days and enjoyed abseiling, surfing and quad biking! The children learnt how to work in teams, how to stay safe and how to take risks in a safe environment. All really important life skills.
Year one have been walking, yes walking (!) all the way to Hengrove Park for swimming lessons. We are really impressed by their healthy attitude and they have enjoyed lunch in the park afterwards as a reward.
Reception and nursery children have enjoyed watching chicks and ducklings hatch, whilst learning about the author Eric Carle. We’ve seen some lovely books made by the children being bought round at gold time.
We also had a successful SATs week for our year six children, and many other learning opportunities across the academy, like learning about the solar eclipse in year three, and year five’s village topic.
Next term will bring many more fun learning opportunities- science week, creativity week, sports day, school photos, the summer fair, moving up week and year six camp to name a few! See our new look newsletter for details and dates.
Here are some pictures of our successes, and also two community events happening in half term that you might like to join in with:
